  • 7 1953 (Mon.) 212 pupils on the register at St Mary’s School, Pontycleifion.
  • 6 1852 (Mon.) Town Council opened a fund to purchase a hat and gown for the Mayor so that he could be properly robed for the official opening of Carmarthen Railway Station. Mr Thomas Evans was the lucky mayor.
  • 5 1969 (Fri.) Rugby Clubhouse opened by Osmonde G. John, Llangwm  – WRU’s district H rep.
  • 4 1884 (Thurs.) New wheels fitted on the Cannon
  • 4 1874 (Fri.) David James had opened a Coach Building establishment at Bath House Works.
  • 3 1970 (Thurs.) Opening of Ideal Foodstores on the High St. (Currently Peacocks). 10.00 a.m. D J E Davies as manager. Opened by the mayor Clr and Mrs D. Terry Thomas.
  • 2 1822 (Mon.) Eleanor James appeared before Thomas Lewis Lloyd, sheriff at the Court of Great Sessions held at the Shire Hall. Eleanor James 24, charged with stealing from the house of Anne Thomas, Tremain, and was sentenced to transportation to Tasmania in 1823 on the vessel Brothers.
  • 1 1970 (Tues.) Concorde flew over Cardigan
  • 1 1964 (Tues.) Policemen in Cardigan wearing helmets for the first time in 30 years.
  • 1 1944 (Wed.) Martin Lloyd-Jones preaches at Capel Mair, at 7.00 p.m.
